Stubborn Girl!!

Ok, so obviously Kali didn't make her arrival this weekend like the doc thought. We had an appointment today and the first thing the doctor said when she came in was..."Where was my phone call this weekend?" I told her I wished we could have made that phone call, but didn't happen. So, first she measured me and well go figure...I am now measuring at 43 weeks. How in the heck did I go from 42 weeks on Thursday to 43 today. I made it very clear at how worried I was about this. I don't want a C-section, but the doctor informed me that it was mostly fluid and that I should be just fine. Luckily for me, I lost a pound!!!! So, for my whole pregnancy I have only gained 21 lbs!!!!!! So, she listened for Kali's hb and it was in the 140's and 150's, so all is well there. Then she did the exam and Kali's head is very low and she said she had to be very careful not to break my water. I told her that it would be okay, but she said that the main doc does not like to do that in the office...so no luck with that! I am also dialated at a 4 now, so she said that my body is ready and Kali is ready, but I am not really having many contractions. So, she said they were going to put me on the machine to track my contractions and if it showed any at all that they would send me down stairs!! Well, go figure. It doesn't show any contractions, but my back was killing me and I was cramping sooo bad, but nothin! Well, the doctor gave us a choice. We could go down to the hospital and they could start things up for us, or we could go home and wait things out. Well, we decided to give my body a little more time to try on its own. I really want my water to break on its own and let things happen a little more naturally, but we have decided that if I keep having bad pain then we will make our way into the hospital. We will just keep waiting and see what happens, but she said that she will not let me go past Thursday...so if not before then we know we will see our little one on Thursday!!!!

Joshs Dream

So, on our way home from our quick check up with the doctor today, Josh told me about a dream he had last night. He said that he saw our little Kali. So, I had to ask what she looked like. This is what he said:

-She is beautiful
-She has dark skin (not sure where that comes from..but sounds good)
-She has dark hair
-She has a button nose
-She has full cheeks

I think that is all he said about her. Now..I can't wait to see how much of that is right!!

38 Weeks!

Okay, so I have been waiting and waiting all week for our little one to join us, but the doctor was wrong!!! Kali decided it was just way to cold this week to come out, so we are still waiting (luckily it will be warmer this weekend). BUT....we had a doctors appointment today and hopefully the doc won't be wrong this time. I am currently 38 weeks, but measuring 42 weeks. This is kinda bittersweet for me. Luckily, the weight I have gained has been ALL BABY...but it looks like this baby is going to be one BIG baby..haha. Anyway, back to the appointment. Last week I was dialated at a 2/3 and now I am closer to the 3. I was a bit disappointed when finding this out, but the news got better! Her head is still really low, her heartbeat was in the 160's, and my water bag is bulging. So...even better news (as long as my doc is right this time)...she doesn't think I will make it past this weekend!!!!!! Looks like my original due date might have been right the whole time..which was the 17th! My bp is up just a little bit, so I have to go in tomorrow morning and get it checked out and they want me to stay down quite a bit and lay on the left side. Hopefully this will be the last post about being pregnant and the next will be about the birth of our little girl! Guess we will just wait and see!

First of all, todays weather has been horrible!! It was quite scary driving to the doc, but we made it there after 30 mins (which usually takes us 10).
So, I had a doc appt today and things are looking great! Normally they don't do an exam until 38 weeks (I am 37), but I asked that they do one and sure glad I did!! First of all, her heart beat is still in the 150's and doing well. The doc did the exam and was surprised at how low Kali's head was. She said that I am dialated 2-3cm, my cervix is very soft to where she could feel Kali's head very well and that I am thinned out quite a bit! Doc said that we should plan for her to come next week if not sooner! I am soo excited to see my little girl!
I have had 4 friends that have had their baby yesterday and today and 3 out of the 4 were due after me. At first, I was kinda bummed, but the more I think about it the more I realize how lucky I am. I want her to be ready to come and don't want to rush anything. I can't wait to see her, but I will also miss rubbing my belly and feeling her move in there.
Hmmm...the waiting process has begun!!

3 Weeks and Counting!!

Wow! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone! I think it helps when things go right throughout the whole 9 months!!! It has gotten kinda rough this last week. Just not getting rest and being very uncomfortable, but oh well! I try not to complain about it to much because it will all be worth it in a few short weeks...or maybe sooner :) I am so ready for my little Kali to arrive, but I don't want her to come until she is ready.
Josh has been soo awesome during all this! I could not ask for a better husband and Kali is going to be one lucky girl!! I already know she is going to be a daddys girl and I have no problem with that. He is going to make one amazing father! He already is the best husband ever! He has taken care of me throughout everything. He is always willing and usually offers to rub my back, arms, feet, legs or whatever else is hurting (which seems to be everything). What more can a girl ask for???
Our Christmas and New Years was good! We were at my families for Christmas and then with some of Joshs Fam for New Years. We got to talk to Blake on Christmas which was awesome! He sounds amazing! Joshs sister and her family came in from AZ and we have had a good time with them! We wish they lived closer, but don't blame them for staying out there especially after all this nasty weather!!
So, back to Kali. I had an appointment on December 30, and all is well! Her heartbeat was 155! My doc is very pleased with everything! I am now going every week! So, I will have to update after my appointment on Thursday and hopefully we will recieve some goods news...but I'm not getting my hopes up....lol..okay..maybe just a little. Josh has predicted for her to arrive on the 7th, so we will see I guess. I have no problem with that at all!! Keeping my fingers crossed!!

34 Weeks!

So, I am 34 weeks today and we went in for a check up. It went extremely well! I have only gained 13 pounds this whole pregnancy...yay for me!!! My doctors are so proud of me..so that makes me very happy! Kali is doing really well. Her heartbeat is still in the 150's. It has been that way from the very beginning except for one time where it was in the 140's. I am measuring 3cm bigger than I am "suppose to." Doc is not worried..just thinks we are going to have a long and possibly chunky little girl! I asked if that meant maybe I would go early..and she just laughed and said "I didn't say that, but nice try." Josh and I still think I will go early, but with our luck and hope..I won't. As long as she is healthy, I don't care one bit. I have been having a few braxton hicks contractions, but not to many and they aren't bad at all. I will still continue to say this...I really couldn't ask for a better pregnancy! Lets just hope the delivery will go just as smooth! 6 weeks and counting and I will be holding my precious little girl in my arms! I can't wait!

Love Being Pregnant...But...

So, I couldn't ask for a better pregnancy so far. I really consider this a perfect pregnancy, but its starting to get a little harder. I know I know...I am sure everyone is laughing at me right now, but I am just at the point of feeling uncomfortable and achy all the time. On Monday Nov 16 I had the "pleasure" of having my first Braxton Hicks Contractions. I wasn't in pain, but it was def. uncomfortable. I have to say, it was so funny to tell Josh these things because he freaks out!! I can't wait until I actually go into labor..just so I can hear his voice and see his face as he freaks out about it. When I told him that I thought I was having braxton hicks contractions..this was the text I got back(he was at work)....What do we do...Are you ok...Do we need to go to the hospital...should we call the doctor?? hahaha! I love my husband so much. I really think this is going to be harder on him than it will be me (not pain wise though)! We had a doctors appt on Thursday and everything is going great! I have been feeling some pressure down low quite a bit, but the doc doesn't seem to be worried..so I'm not either! Couldn't ask for more!!

Good news last night! We got a letter in the mail saying that Josh was accepted into the graduate program!! We are so excited for him and very relieved to get the wonderful news! I am so proud of him!!

House Update!

So, we decided to stop by the land today and guess what!! We got to drive on "our" road!!! Who knew driving on a road would be so exciting..haha, but it was for us! We decided to get out and take some pictures. They are suppose to start building our house this week, so we are just hoping the weather will help us out!

Great News=Great Week

Well, we had a pretty exciting week last week!! We found out that they are ready to start building houses!! They are pulling our permit and should be starting any time now. Lets just hope weather and everything else cooperates. We are very excited and they say it SHOULD be done before Miss Kali gets here, but there is always a chance it won't, but that is okay because we are so blessed already that we can deal with the apartment a little longer. I am getting things ready for her to come and can't wait for the day!

That brings me to the second part of the good news. We went to the doctor on Nov 5th and everything is going great! My doc couldn't be more proud of how things are going! It makes me feel so good that she is happy with everything. This has been such a good pregnancy! Everything has gone great except for the kidney stone I had a while back, but no biggie. Her heartbeat has dropped which is expected since she is getting bigger, but hopefully not to big :) I have not hardly gained any weight with this pregnancy which my doc is so pleased with...as am I!! And the biggest news is that I went in for my glucose test on Oct 29th and got the results back and it came back just fine! That took so much stress off my shoulders!! No 3 hour test!!!!!

Then on Nov 7th, Joshs Fam had a baby shower for me! It was sooo much fun! I hate having the attention on me, so it was awkward at first, but once it got going, we all had a blast! They came up with some of the cutest games ever and I got so many cute things from them and friends! I also got sooo much advice, which is going to help out so much..probably more than the gifts will! I am so blessed to have married into such a wonderful family who cares so much about me. Kali is going to be one lucky little girl to have so much love around her.

This has nothing to do with last week, but will make this week amazing! Blake will be leaving for Ukraine tomorrow. I can't believe it has already been 12 weeks! He has grown so much already! The most exciting part, is that we will be able to talk to him tomorrow!! I can not wait!!

Josh and I's 3 year anniversary was Wednesday. We didn't really do to much that day, but this weekend we got a way for a little bit. We just headed down to Indy for 2 days. It was so relaxing!! I was so glad to spend time with him, since he will be starting a new shift and I will hardly see him anymore...but I shouldn't really get into that unless I want to cry more :S Anyway, Josh took me out to dinner at Cheesecake Factory!! Yum Yum! That is our favorite place! Then we went to our new favorite baby store...Once Upon A Child!! Kali got her easter dress, pea coat, summer outfit and 6 new pairs of shoes...all for very very cheap!! It was kinda hard for us not going any place real big for our anniversary this year, but thats ok. For our honeymoon we were in Niagara Falls, 1st year was Gatlinburg TN, and last year was in amazing Mexico!!! Kali may only be 9 months old for our next anniversary, but it looks like she might be staying with grandma and grandpa while mommy and daddy head back to Mexico next year! Thats the plan anyway...hopefully it won't change, but we will see :) I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband. He works so hard for me and I appriciate everything he does. I couldn't ask for a better husband! I Love You Josh!! 3 years down and an eternity to go!!..boy am I lucky!!

So much has happened!

Alright, so it has been forever since I have put anything on here and I figured since we are EXPECTING!!...I should starting writing a little more. So much has happened in our lives within the last few months.
We found out in June that we were pregnant. It came as such a surprise!!..but a good surprise! Things are going really well with the baby. We actually found out that we are having a girl. We have picked out a name. We wanted something that wasn't weird, but was unique. So...we came up with...Kaliana Marie Ashby. I am sure she will be mostly known as Kali. She is due Jan 26th. Its pretty exciting because on my moms side there are 7 great grand kids and they are all boys, so she will be very spoiled. She is already a joy in our lives. I love being able to lay down and feel her kick, as does her daddy. He is just so excited and I am so blessed with such a loving and caring husband. He would do anything for me. He will be the best dad ever!
Blake left for the MTC in August. He is loving every minute of it. He is so excited to get to Ukraine, speak Russian(which he loves) and teach all those people who are waiting for him!! He has become such a different person already. He has sent us a few pictures and we get an email from him every Tuesday and a letter every Friday. I don't want to get use to it to much because it won't be that often when he gets to Ukraine...but I am enjoying them while they last. He will be the best missionary ever and those people in Ukraine are going to be very lucky to have such a great young man who is very very strong in the gospel!
We are currently in the process of building our first house! We are so excited to get out of the "apartment life." They are suppose to start building at the end of the month...so we will see what happens. We will have quite a bit of room. It will be a 2 story home with 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. I will have to post pictures of the progress. It is going slower than what we would like, but oh well. We are just hoping to be in it by time Kali gets here. We will see, I guess!
Both of our jobs are going pretty well. I love the kids I watch. They are such good kids. Josh on the other hand is ready for something new. There has been alot of things going on there and they changed his shift on him. Starting sometime soon he will go from working 7-4 to 2-11. We are not to crazy about that, but we know the Lord has something in store for us and we are just trying to be diligent and listen because He knows best!
Well, as for now I think that is about it. I guess I should post things more often so they won't be so long next time!!

Blakes Mission Call

So.....Blake got his mission call this weekend. He is going to...............Kiev Ukraine. It is so crazy. He is actually going to be speaking Russian. He is so excited as is the rest of the family. He will be leaving Aug 26th. He is def. doing an amazing thing, but I am trying not to think about it to much because we have gotten really close this past year and its going to suck with him being gone...but I am soo excited for him!

~~Our Trip to Rocky Point Mexico~~

Josh and I flew out to Arizona and went down to Puerto Penasco Mexico for our 2 year anniversary. Our hotel was amazing. We had an awesome view. The pool area was so nice. There were 4 pools with one being a swim up bar (which we didn't use..of course), a slide, a hot tub, and a lazy river. The Sea of Cortez was so much warmer than the pool. We got to ride a jet ski out there. Josh took me out on a date to eat some "real" tacos..which were actually pretty good. I tried everything he wanted me to try and it was all really good. I don't drink much pop, but if the US sold Monzana Lift...I would be drinking pop all the time. I loved shopping down there. There were so many neat things..which most of the stuff was made by the people who were selling it. We had a blast!!!! We got to spend alot of time with Josh's sisters family. Dave, Holly and the kids are so much fun to be around. We really enjoyed visiting with them. We can't wait to go back!!

Its been a long time!!

Okay, so it has been forever since I have posted anything and actually a lot has happened. We went on our vacation out to Arizona and down to Mexico. We went for our 2 year anniversary. That was a blast. I guess I should get some pictures up pretty soon since it has been a month. Umm....we found out that Centennial is being bought out by AT&T...so we were a little freaked out at first, but we are not to worried about it right now. We are not sure if they will be getting rid of people or not. This is should be finalized by the spring time. It actually might be a good thing for us though. Josh will actually be graduating in May...YAY!!!..so he would be able to work an actually 8-5 work shift. So...who knows where we will be next year. I can't believe it is almost Thanksgiving. This year has flown by. We have tons of stuff to do. Luckily, we have alot of our Christmas stuff bought. Other than that, not to much is going on. I will def. post pictures soon..cause I have tons!!

Upcoming 2nd Anniversary Trip

Okay, I am sooo excited for our upcoming trip. I know it is still a few weeks away, but oh well. We are flying out Oct 11 out to Arizona. We get to spend lots of time with Dave, Holly and the kids...which we are so excited about. We don't get to see them very often. We are also going down to Mexico for a few days. We are staying in this hotel down there. It looks so beautiful. It has a ton of pools and my favorite...a lazy river:) We will be back Oct 18. I just know it is going to fly by and I don't want it too:S Oh well, I will put pictures up when we get back.

BIRTHDAY!!!

Sooo....I am now 22. It is actually kinda depressing because the older you get...the more boring it gets. I am starting to get to the point where I forget it is even my birthday....and I DON"T LIKE IT!!!!! It really was a good day. I actually worked til 5:30 and then my parents came up and took Josh and I out to eat at Flat Top Grill...yummy. Then we walked around Jefferson Pointe and ended up going to Coldstones for ice cream. That was today. This weekend was good too! We (Josh, me, Blake, Mollie, Ashlee, and Jason) left for Cedar Point bright and early Saturday morning. We were at the park til midnight. It was actually HalloWeekend there. My sister and her friend was hilarious to watch...they got so scared..haha. Josh totally spoiled me. He bought me a sewing machine, Wii Fit...which I love!!...a robe, shoes, and clothes. He is soooo good to me:) Well, I will put up some pictures later! Hopefully I can get Josh to give me a massage...wish me luck:)

Wii Fit

So, I have been asking people about the Wii Fit. I am needing something to help lose some weight and get in shape. We thought about going to the YMCA, but it is so expensive and you have to pay for the first year...you can't cancel for any reason. We would love to do that, but not real sure. We have also checked into some other gyms, but the prices there are no better either. I get really frustrated with this. They expect people to lose weight and get in shape...yet prices for gym membership are so stinkin expensive. Its not only that either....most healthy food is way expensive too. Anyway, enough of that. So, I thought about the Wii Fit. I got some feed back (thanks Samantha and Christy) and I think I am going buy it. Christy told me that she has already lost 8lbs and her mom has lost 55lbs. I am also doing the Special K diet...which I really like. So maybe with the combination it will work! If anyone else has tips that works for them...let me know!!!
